The hotel is in a good location with local amenities. Family restaurants and petrol garage are close by. Overall our stay was fine, reception staff were helpful and bar/waiting staff were easy to talk to. Our room was an executive double which was one of the largest rooms at the hotel. Nice room layout and overlooking the golf course first hole, the bed was not comfortable as it had a large dip on one side, I didn't make the reception aware of the bed issue as it wasn't a big deal for me. Golf course was well kept and tidy. Some damage to greens. Spa was ok but needed updating, signs of wear and tear in the changing rooms and pool. Treatments are available. Dog friendly hotel. Plenty of parking available. Would stay again if in the area, no real issues during our 2 night stay.

We had my dad’s 90th birthday celebration at the Abbey hotel. Chloe who was our party planner at the hotel was so helpful and helped to make the day such a success. The room was a wow when we entered we had only seen it in conference mode what a transformation. The food was amazing the presentation and the quality we will definitely be back for more and lastly the ladies looking after us on the day were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

I had the Japanese head spa treatment (scalp restore) and it was amazing. Very relaxing and felt worth every penny! Would definitely recommend Kacey, the girl who did my treatment! :)

As a family we go to the Abbey hotel a lot and we always have an amazing time . The spa/ leisure facilities are brilliant , the best swimming pool and seating area I’ve been to in a hotel . It was very busy as it was half term and was still enough beds and seating areas for everyone ( not sure why people complain about this ) the kids loved the place. We then went to the driving range which is very modern and they had fun . We had a lovely meal as usual and again the staff at the hotel are all very attentive and make the hotel warming and friendly which is why we return . We saw the new hotel manager making time for his guests which was impressive , well done The Abbey .

If anyone is thinking of booking the Abbey Hotel for a weeding or even a small function, please don't think anymore, get it booked . We had our Veterans Summer Ball there this year and right from the start of the planning to clearing up after over 100 vets and wife's and vacated the place they were all amazing. Hannah you certainly pulled it out of the bag and got everything right. The staff on the night were also amazing. It can't of been easy looking after 100 vets as we are quite particular. Well done everyone Top job as usual. 10/10.

After reading reviews I was quite concerned but absolutely no need. We've just had a lovely spa morning, swimming, scalp, neck and shoulder massage and afternoon tea with prosecco. The pool was quite cold but I understand it's being sorted. Plenty of seating around the pool. Changing room and showers were clean. The massage was lovely and afternoon tea delicious. The bar has a great view over the golf course. We will definitely re-visit
